Kirk Hazen, MSW

Kirk Hazen is currently employed as a licensed clinical social worker for the Department of Veterans Affairs. He has worked there for approximately 3 years to provide substance abuse treatment along with mental health counseling to the veteran population. Prior to this he worked for the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare Adult Mental Health agency in Twin Falls for 11 years where he worked both as a psychosocial rehabilitation specialist and as a clinician upon the completion of his masters degree in social work in 2003. He is also a designated emergency mental health suicide and homicide risk evaluator in the State of Idaho. Many years ago the community Kirk lived in struggled to meet the treatment demands created by persons with concurrent mental health and substance abuse issues, but Kirk found that he could effectively treat both issues simultaneously with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques.
