Eric L Jensen, Ph D

 

Eric L. Jensen, Ph.D., is professor of political science and public policy at the University of Idaho. His areas of specialty are drug policy, evidence-based practices, juvenile justice policy, and research methods.

Dr. Jensen has published two books and numerous articles on drug policy. His most recent article is: “Adult Drug Treatment Courts: A Review” in Sociology Compass (2007) with Nick Parsons and Clay Mosher. His most recent drug policy book is: Drug War, American Style: The Internationalization of Failed Policies and Its Alternatives (2001) with Jurg Gerber.

 

He was a Fulbright Lecturer/Research Scholar studying drug policies in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe at the School of Law, University of Aarhus, Denmark during the spring semester of 2002. Dr. Jensen was the keynote speaker at The Social Organization of Drug Policies: Patterns, Determinants, and Consequences conference, Centre for Alcohol and Drug Research, University of Aarhus, Denmark in April, 2007.

 

Dr. Jensen is currently evaluating correctional programs, including therapeutic communities, for the Idaho Department of Correction. He is also the evaluation researcher for three adult drug courts in Idaho Judicial District II under a federal enhancement grant.
