Kathie Garrett

 

 

 

Kathie Garrett served in the Idaho House of Representative from 2002 through 2006. Rep. Garrett made improving health care, issues facing people with disabilities, mental illness, and suicide awareness and prevention the focus of her tenure. She served as Vice Chairman of the House Health and Welfare Committee.
Since 2006, Kathie has served as the Co-Chairman of the Idaho Council on Suicide Prevention which as the responsibility to oversee the implementation of the Idaho Suicide Prevention Plan and to report annually to the Governor and the Legislature
In 2007 Kathie formed Partners in Crisis, a group of organization and advocates desiring to improve public policies and structures that support, enhance and protect the rights of all people with mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
Kathie currently lobbies the Idaho Legislature representing clients interested in health care policies and issues facing people with disabilities, mental illness and substance abuse treatment.
