Jose Alfredo Hernandez, MSW

Jose Alfredo Hernandez, MSW is an HIV Social Work Medical Case Manger at Family Medicine Health Center / The Wellness Center in Boise, Idaho. Mr. Hernandez holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Management, Community Planning and Social Administration. Mr. Hernandez has been in the HIV field for the past 12 years having begun his career at the Central District Health Department (CDHD) in Boise, Idaho. While at CDHD, Mr. Hernandez helped write the grant that would become The Wellness Center, Idaho’s only HIV specialty clinic that now serves most of Idaho. In the initial developmental stages of this program, Mr. Hernandez helped in the administration of this grant. Currently Mr. Hernandez focuses most of his time and attention in providing HIV medical case management at the Wellness Center. In his free time you will often find Mr. Hernandez doing one of two things: 1) Coaching his children in their various sports interests or 2) Conducting community based presentations around HIV in hopes of further minimizing the impact of this disease in our various community members.
