Debbie Thomas is a Licensed Professional Counselor and an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is currently the Outpatient Program Director at the Walker Center. She has worked in the behavioral health field for 22 years in both mental health and substance abuse treatment programs, Quality Assurance and Employee Assistance and has been a clinical supervisor for 12 years. She has been utilizing the NFATTC model of clinical supervision for 4 years. Her personal supervisor philosophy is based on Buckingham and Clifton, Now Discover Your Strengths believing that employees come to work with the expectation of doing a good job. A supervisor’s job is to teach, coach and mentor employees to find their strengths and talents in order to do the job. Most supervision is assisting employees to gain knowledge and develop skills. Clinical Supervision is a fun and rewarding job that can be integrated with the administrative role.
