Hakim Hazim is the founder of Relevant Now Consultancy, Developer and Program Director of the L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P. 1st program O.P.T.I.O.N.S. (Observe, Prepare, Transition, Integrate, Optionize, Negotiate and Self-Direct.)
O.P.T.I.O.N.S. is a critical thinking and character development program to increase self-direction and positive decision-making in the lives of youth, ages 12-17. By utilizing best practice approaches from several programs, it enables students to develop self-directed learning tools that will aid him or her in the discovery of intrinsic motivation. Mr. Hazim has been immersed in research for at risk populations since 1993. His successful results confirmed first-hand that “The price of incarceration in terms of expense for housing offenders is too much for society to consistently pay, and the future grows darker. Bluntly put, we can’t sustain the cost in lives or resources. It is my fervent belief that a productive tax-paying citizen is a far better option. Given the right tools, young people can change and lead positive lives.”
Unmatched in his ability to provide real-life, real-time critical thinking tools, Mr. Hazim not only equips youth to overcome and proactively offset the most challenging situations, he trains others to do the same. Hakim is also an emerging theorist. His book American Realism Revisited has been acquired by the FBI’s library, The Canadian Defense College, and the National University of Taiwan. In addition his work has been reviewed in the foreign press as well. As a certified Crisis Prevention Institute Senior Trainer and Behavior Intervention Specialist he specializes in the following various areas of security: counterterrorism, radical religious sects, gangs, juvenile delinquency and law enforcement approaches for mentally ill or challenged individuals.
Hakim has published articles for MSNBC’s TheGrio.com, nationally recognized security journals, blogs, law enforcement sensitive publications, and was a contributor for internationally reviewed book Criminal States and Criminal Soldiers edited by Dr. Robert J Bunker. Mr. Hazim is the creator of the 4Cs of Leadership trainings.
Hazim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and a Master of Arts in National Security Studies from the California State University San Bernardino and is a member of the National Political Science Honor Society.
Mr. Hazim has delivered keynote presentations since December of 1998
