Mike Walsh Ph.D.
Mike Walsh completed his Ph.D. in which he evaluated a component of a state juvenile correctional chemical dependency program which embraces Restorative Justice (RJ) as the foundation of their curriculum. Mike has received substantial training in RJ via the Minnesota Department of Corrections, and from community programs and mentors in Minneapolis. Mike received his training as a Circle Keeper in 2007, and in 2008 he received further training from the First Nation Tlingit in the Yukon Territories. Since then, Mike has been actively involved in several community-based RJ initiatives. As a Circle Keeper, Mike has facilitated several Circles’ in Idaho, including a Circle for Canyon County juvenile justice professionals. He is currently facilitating a Circle in Nampa for gang-affiliated youth and family members. Mike is also consulting a Nampa non-profit in the utilization of Peacemaking Circles for victims and offenders of domestic violence. Other restorative projects include the use of Circles for young people in the juvenile justice system.
