The 2026 Idaho Conference on Alcohol and Drug Dependency (ICADD) will be held in-person at Boise State University on June 9-10, 2026 with pre-conference workshops on June 8, 2026

We are seeking proposals from subject matter experts to share their knowledge and experience by presenting on a topic that would fit in one of our five focus areas (Clinical Education & Skills; Criminal Justice; Prevention & Coalition; Recovery Support; Youth & Family).

 
  • Sample topics include (but are not limited to):

    • Ethics

    • Boundaries

    • Suicide Prevention

    • Trauma-informed care

    • Resilience

    • DBT

    • EMDR

    • Recovery Coaching/Supervision

    • Motivational Interviewing

    • Healthy Relationships

  • Presenter consideration requires candidates to have professional qualifications in good standing (if applicable) and the technical expertise to deliver the subject effectively. Additionally, to ensure a high level of subject mastery, candidates must satisfy at least one of the following:

    • Extensive experience (at least five years) involving practical application or research related to the subject

    • Current college or university faculty status

    • Specialized graduate or post-graduate training in the presentation subject

  • ICADD requests that all presenters use person-first language and other current accepted terminology that avoids perpetuating stigma surrounding those with substance use disorders or living in recovery. Preferred terms include:

    • Person with a(n) [substance] use disorder (substance can be replaced with specific drug)        

    • Drug use or misuse (vs abuse)

    • Person in recovery, person in long-term recovery

  • Each session block is 1.5 hours, so each presentation must effectively utilizes and fill the entire scheduled time slot to provide maximum value to attendees. You can also request multiple session blocks if needed.

  • The deadline for proposal submission is December 10, 2025. Submission of this form does not guarantee a speaker position at the 2026 ICADD Conference.

    The ICADD Conference Program Coordinator will send notification of accepted proposals by January 12, 2026. This notification will include important dates and more information on finalizing speaker details. 


    All rooms are set up with a computer, projector and screen. It is the speaker's responsibility to bring presentation slides, if needed.

    Speakers give their consent to be videotaped and photographed during their presentation for marketing purposes.
